We are proud to celebrate the cast and scenes from the London production of Dunya Bellydance presents Ozgen's 'One Day in Istanbul'.

Maho Tribal Bellydance
Maho’s passion for her belly dance started back in 2003.
In 2007 when she visited her sister in San Francisco she fell in love with American Tribal Style ®.
Since then Maho has been training under her sister’s tutelage, who is a principal dancer of Fat Chance Belly Dance ® also she has received intensive training from Carolena Nericcio the director of FCBD ®.
After 5 years of training, Maho is now an ATS® certified teacher and teaches regular classes in Chiswick to share her passion with her students.

Behiye
Behiye is of Turkish Cypriot origins and has been dancing since an early age. 3 1/2 years ago she decided to learn Egyptian style dance and other Middle Eastern styles. She regularly performs at Haflas, corporate and cultural events and also takes part in charity work. Behiye believes everyone's feet can dance but not everyone's soul can dance.
Anita Makwana
Anita Makwana is a London based professional performer, choreographer and dance instructor. Her passion for dance and diverse dancing background has enabled her to create an individual style, which is both intriguing and unique.
Inspired by a variety of forms to create the versatile dancer she is today. Starting with gymnastics from a very young age, performing samba in her teenage years and learning Street/Hip Hop styles, she then went on to study the beautiful art of belly dance. Having mastered all levels and varieties in this style of dance, she uses this art form combined with those previously learnt, to fuse radiant energy and captivating elegance into all of her performances. She has performed at world class events and shows to include Channel 5's Big Brother show, Channel 4's Lenny Henry Show, the recent 2012 London Olympics, the Andy and Korous Persian Concert and many more.
Her Company Discover Dance UK works alongside other artists and agencies to both perform and manage events.
Anita regulary teaches in London and around the UK and teaches privately, focusing on technique, stage presence, inner confidence, self motivation and overall fitness. You can find more about her, her classes and events on discoverdanceuk.com.

Urban Drift Bellydance
After years of dance experience and training including Ballet, Hip Hop and African dance Michelle found herself in awe of the oriental art of Bellydance. She explores elements of traditional and fusion Bellydance and uses it to compliment an array of music and dance styles. Urban Drift Bellydance is dance choreography inspired by big city culture and world music fused with sounds of rock, hip hop, electronic and dance music.
Itsumi
Itsumi is a former Figure Skater competing in a number of regional and national competitions in Japan. She studied classical ballet and jazz dance from her early age.
Itsumi fell in love with Bellydance in 2009. Soon after she started learning and joined in troupe, performed in several haflas and now regularly attends classes by Josephine Wise, Maelle Roger and Anna Kemper. She has also attended a number of workshops by top international instructors including Serena Ramzy, Ozgen, Jillina, Ranya Renee and Suhaila Salimpour. Itsumi dances mostly Egyptian style including folklore dance. She especially loves Saidi and Oriental. She is also a member of project Lift-off hosted by Charlotte Desorgher. Itsumi performed Arabesque Night and Shimmy In The City 2012 and local haflas in London.

Carol Thay
Carol has been belly dancing for nearly 5 years and is passionate about this art form. After initially taking classes in Turkish belly dancing, Carol studied Egyptian style belly dance and deepened her knowledge further with Serena and Hossam Ramzy on their Foundation Belly dance course. Carol has danced at various haflas, charity events and festivals and is always keen to perform. Carol enjoys the expressiveness and creativity of belly dancing and has started using Chinese fan veils as part of her own routines after taking a course with Setsuna. Carol is also very excited to be dancing as part of the 'One Day In Istanbul' theatre show in December.
Ariana Faethe
Ariana is fascinated with how the body can explore movement and sound. Using fusion bellydance to explore this, Ariana also uses influences from her other disciplines, including Japanese Butoh, contemporary dance and theatre performance. Ariana teaches tribal fusion bellydance in London with Dancebuzz, and will also be teaching tribal fusion bellydance workshops in Windsor in the new year. She is also available for private parties and functions.
