Hafla on the Hill
Thank you to everyone that supported Hafla on the Hill for the last 2 years. We have raised around £1700 for a great variety of charities and look forward to seeing you all at our next event.
This 'Hafla' (meaning to throw a private or public party with live music and open platform dancing), was created to give the vast number of talented dancers, musicians and singers the opportunity to perform and network. London is brimming with talent and what better way to exhibit this than at this relaxed and fun showcase.
Our event happens bi‐monthly. Each month we raise money for a charity of our choice, usually to support educational and empowerment causes, through a raffle/quiz and a percentage of ticket sales. If you are a professional or fledgling dancer, musician or singer and would like to take part in one of our showcases, you can fill in our BOOKING FORM request. Due to the nature of our Hafla we now ask that performers pay a donation of £2 each, which will go towards the charity donation.
This event was co‐founded in 2010 by 'Dunya Bellydance' duo Rosy Summerbell of 'Bellydance Belles' & Michelle Drouse of 'Bellydance by Deniz'.
'Dunya Bellydance' is dedicated to the diverse and artistic representation of Middle Eastern dance. DUNYA meaning ‘world’ in Arabic and Turkish represents our commitment to understanding people of different cultures, ethnicities and religions around the world. We aim to create a bridge of understanding
through our common language – music and dance...
